Sequelae

The public appears to think that COVID is a respiratory disease and once one feels better, they are out of the woods. Nothing could be further from the truth. COVID is much more of a endovascular disease, leading to the development of microscopic blood clots (microthrombi). “The development of thrombi formation is due to the activation of megakaryocytes, platelets, complement system, endothelial injury, and changes induced by severe inflammation, which constitute a complex vasculopathy syndrome” and has been noted in postmortem exams.
